I love this so much. It makes the water taste a million times better, the light is very easy to see and keep track of, and its super easy to clean. Has a sort of chemical smell when you first use the new filter, but if you let it run for a few minutes it goes away.

Good product, works well but does not last as long as expected; flow knob breaks after a few months of use

If I could give it zero, I would. Yes it was easy to install and yes it worked (when it worked.) But for the most part, it was awful. It leaked, came off the faucet entirely multiple times, sprayed water everywhere and became unusable. My son turned the faucet on and the entire unit fell off into the sink and myself and my carpenter boyfriend cannot reinstall it. The screw on part of the unit that attaches to the faucet is ceased up entirely. It no longer turns whatsoever. So we cannot reinstall it. I bought this on June 2nd and it’s now August 26th. So it lasted less than 3 months, I didn’t even have time to use the second filter. I hand wash dishes, we do not have a dishwasher, but I did not use the “filtered” water for that. I only ever used the filtered water for ice cubes, drinking water, and to give my cat water. I would estimate the amount of time I used the actual filtered water side is less then 5% of the time I was using my faucet. This thing is made of cheap plastic, installs like cheap plastic, and withstands like cheap plastic…. I would not recommend buying it unless you want to be doused with water at 2am or have your young child rinse a plate and be covered in water. I wanted to replace my fridge brita container (that I absolutely love btw) to save space in the fridge… this was so disappointing I came straight here to write a review which I never do unless a product is that bad. This is THAT bad. Also the return policy on this is 30 days, just long enough for you to realize it’s awful and not be able to get your money back.

PROS:1. The water does taste good. We have well water, and this filters out the groundwater taste really well.2. I don’t have to refill a water pitcher 3x a day.2.5. I don’t have to yell at my family because they didn’t take 5 seconds to refill the pitcher themselves.3. The chrome color matches our sink nicely.4. The warranty service was quick and helpful.CONS:1. After 6 months of use, it leaks out of the unfiltered side if you’re using the filtered side, and it leaks out of the filtered side if you’re using the unfiltered side. I figured out #1 was caused by the strainer (see the parts diagram in the manual). When I got tired of the constant leaking, I took it apart and figured out the strainer had become warped. Now, our water pressure is average at best, so it wasn’t as a result of high water pressure. That being said, when I called Brita to file a claim under their warranty, they quickly agreed to send me a whole new filter system. However, they only had white in stock. So I’ll take the strainer out of the white one and put it into my chrome one.2. You cannot find a strainer replacement in your local hardware store. I tried.3. The water flow from the unfiltered side is substantially weaker through the filter than it is through a regular aerator. It’s maybe 50% flow rate versus the aerator. It makes filling pots/pans drastically slower, and rinsing off dishes is more tedious than it should be.4. Brita’s customer service is outsourced. The particular rep I talked to when I called on the warranty was friendly and helpful, and I did not have to repeat myself once, so I will give due credit for that.An under-sink mounted system would work much better for what I want. But I can’t stomach paying $200 for such a system, and then more for the filter replacements, so I’ll deal with con #3 above and stick with this.

Improves the taste of our city water
This is the second Brita tap water filtering system I’ve owned. The first one improved the taste and appearance of our city tap water, but the adjustment lever that determines whether the water goes through the chrome filter, broke off after about a year. I was disappointed this happened and decided to take the broken filter off and not replace it. However, I didn’t like that the unfiltered water was cloudy and didn’t taste as good I purchased and installed this new filter. It works fine, but the plastic lever has not been improved by Brita. I anticipate that it will be subject to plastic fatigue and break also. The filter and is expensive and should last longer.

Perfect if fitted correctly
Great filter system if fitted correctly. Too many poor reviews by people who do not know how to fit or use basic plumbing techniques. Apply a little plumbers tape to thread and tighten with an adjustable wrench. Make sure you use the correct adapter and voila!! I have 2 installed on handbasin taps and use for washing face and hands. I do not use for drinking only sensitive skin washing.
