How To Measure A Grille
Overall Size:
Measure the size of the air duct/drywall opening. Do not measure the overall size of the register itself, only measure the “”hole”” in the wall/duct. Every grille has a front end frame, that will overlap at wall joint.
Total outer size of this grille is; listed size +1.875″” at the width, and + 2″” at the height.
Width vs Height
The first number in a grille size, represents the width, the second number represents the height. Example: If your hole is 20″” wide by 14″” tall, order a 20×14. If your hole is 14″” wide by 20″” tall, order a 14×20.

Overall – this was a good buy. A little pricier than the other vents I was looking at purchasing, but well worth the extra money/cost.Why?This adjustable air vent/register/return is built like a tank and its finish is up to my rather refined standards (ha). When I adjust its louvers, they actually close tight with virtually no air seeping/leaking through. Eureka!It looks sufficiently understated – which is a good thing considering that it a vent on the wall and should not compete for attention with my Renoir and Picasso. Moreover, it doesn’t look “cheap” and it doesn’t feel cheap (its actually much heavier than the other vents in mi casa.) For that matter, most vents I see (in my own home) look like they were made out of tin foil. This one tells a story of subtle strength and gravitas. Currently, I’m saving up to replace my other tin foil vents with this one.Was my review sponsored? Hell no.But if this company wants to send me a free vent, I would gladly put it on my wall as the archetype of what a air vent should be. Bravo.

Overall it came to me as advertised, and I did appreciate the “no sharp corners” aspect of it. The adjustable slats are pretty much as expected, so no complaints there. Two things for prospective buyers to be mindful of:1) It’s imperative to open completely the vent slats in back (the ones operated by the lever) so that they’re at a 90 degree angle to the vent, BEFORE you install it; otherwise, if the vent is installed with slats in the closed position, you won’t be able to budge the lever to open them again.2) If you want to use a magnetically attached air deflector, this isn’t your vent cover; the metal in it won’t stick to a magnet. I had to wedge a couple of large metal washers under the cover on each side and attach the deflector to those, but, because I bought a sliding adjustable air deflector with maximum dimensions that fit the vent exactly, the adjustable deflector had to be expanded wider than I wanted, and it’s now barely holding together in the middle. That’s not a complaint about the deflector, but, rather, a disappointment that the metal used in the vent cover wasn’t what I expected in the first place. It might be best if the product materials were disclosed in the product description, perhaps with a specific statement about the aluminum construction.In all other respects, the product worked as promised, and the finish on it was nice.

This is such a sleek look and exactly what I was looking for. I ordered 2 of these. Only negative was that the second one didn’t come with screws. Other than that, 10/10.

This product is perfect for my living room. The vent is at one end of the room, far away from the south facing window that overlooks the desert. It tends to get very warm near the window, especially during the summer.The previous vent split the flow in three separate directions (right, left, and center), and was terribly noisy. There was never enough airflow where I needed it in the living room and no way to make more than minimal adjustments.Installing the new vent was easy. I can adjust the fins to direct most of the air to the part of the living room that needs it most. And there is no rattling.Now that I have seen what a huge difference this has made, I will be replacing a few more vents in the house with this same product.

I did not realize you have you stick your finger past the finds all the way into the grill to reach the lever to open up the register. Looks sturdy but this isn’t for someone with arthritis or fat fingers.
