For Context, I am an engineer, expert DIYer and former home inspector/constructor. This may be the best small hand tool I have ever owned. I was skeptical about it’s size and power but since I received, I have cut cement siding, cut out old steel pipe and made numerous trim cuts in wood. The size and weight make it an ideal tool when standing on a ladder or at an odd angle. The only thing you have to understand is the high rev motor doesn’t have a lot of torque so you can’t force the tool through the work. Just let the high rev’s work for you. I highly recommend this tool as it will make jobs you used to dread easy!

As advertised, brushless and compact are big pluses. And this thing has lots of power. Used it to cut out an exhaust system that needed replaced and it didn’t falter at all. Used it on steel tubing with the same results. It just doesn’t seem to quit. Especially like the ability to reverse the rotation to minimize the amount of debris you have to eat when working in tight quarters. I’m quite happy with the tool and would recommend it to anyone contemplating purchasing a cut-off tool.

I wish that I had access to a time machine so I could buy this sooner. It’s perfect for doing tile work such as cutting small outlet squares and back-bevelling. It’s also great for cutting metal trim – you’re basic Rondec and Quadec stuff. And it will cut through a 2×4 in a fraction of the time that a recip saw will. And it makes the same sound as that little saw that R2D2 used to get everyone out of the Ewok net on that moon of Endor! If you’re in the trades, do yourself a favor and buy one now.
Travel Diaries –
This is a good cut off tool. I would not say it’s perfect or even great.It could use more power and torque for demanding cuts.Some of the OEM Dewalt blades it comes with are marginal quality compared to other brands. For example, if you need to cut tile then I recommend using the Diablo Tile blade as it is far superior.Changing blades could be made easier with a quick attach mechanism.Overall it is a good tool and it’s comparable to similar cut off tools from top tier brands. I think they all have some room to improve though.

Compact and powerful. I use Dewalt tools and this tool is very useful. From cutting tile, tin, wood and chicken wire. Makes jobs so much easier. Does not take up much room in the tool box and with the variety of wheels you can get it cuts through most anything. Took me a while to finally buy it but I am very happy I did. Lots of YouTube videos showing you different ways to use this versatile tool.
