A Few Tips About Applying Ultimate Black
Meguiar’s Ultimate Black was formulated so that there is little need to use too much of it to get great results. A dime size drop on a foam applicator is enough to take care of small sections at a time. Keep the following points in mind when working with Meguiar’s Ultimate Black: the surface must be cleaned and dried thoroughly, a little bit goes a long way, and the product will be dry to the touch in 5 to 10 minutes.
Applying Ultimate Black
For best results, apply to a clean, dry and cool surface. Wash the car or use a detailer like Meguiar’s Ultimate Quik Detailer to clean the trim before applying Ultimate Black.
- 1. Apply a small amount of Ultimate Black on a 100% cotton terry cloth towel or foam applicator pad.
- 2. Apply Ultimate Black evenly and thoroughly to the desired exterior trim area.
- 3. Wipe off any excess Ultimate Black with a clean towel. NOTE: 2-3 applications may be needed for neglected areas.
Do not apply to glass, paint, tire tread, leather and motorcycle or bicycle seats. Please keep off clear plastic. Not for use on surfaces where a slick or glossy finish is not desirable.

I was heavy handed using this. I applied it like lotion. The longer it sits the better it works. I just got this 2005 Avalanche and it’s been sitting for years. I wasn’t sure what color the trim was until I used this product. The truck looks a million times better. Definitely worth the money.

I have a Jeep Wrangler that has black plastic bumper and fenders. The plastic fades after time, and I have tried everything for several years to bring back the black shine. Finally, I saw this and it had great reviews so I tried it, why not, I’ve tried everything else. This product is wonderful. It brought back the shine immediately, and the shine even stayed after a rain. The water also puddles on it like rain does on a freshly waxed car. I will not be purchasing anything else because I have found the perfect product to put on rubber and plastic that protects and shines. I would give this product a 10 if I could.

If you neglected your vehicles for decades…I’m not sure this can’t help! This plastic does however does an amazing result at vehicles that has a little to mild fade. My mom’s 2014 SUV has some mild fade on the plastic panel on the outside and it only took one layer of application to turn it back to its original look. My 2019 truck which I’ve neglected has mild to semi severe fade and this restorer did wonders! The process isn’t rocket science, a simple rag and a dab of this magic potion was all it took to turn both my mom’s and my vehicle to its original pristine if not even better than the original…lol I’ve tried the “chemical guy vrp” and compared to meguiars. Meguiars is light years ahead as it doesn’t require so many applications just to bring a vehicle back to life. Excellent product and will absolutely stand by it!

I have been using Meguiars car products for years. My grand father turned me onto this brand. Their washes and wax are the best. This product was disappointing.I used this on a 2013 car that is in excellent condition. I applied it to the black textured molding in front grille and also to plastic on roof where panorama glass slides.I put cream on a bit heavy and could actually see plastic turning from medium gray to light black. It DID look much better but you need to put on evenly or there are lighter areas that show through. It didn’t take long to do though. The car has not been washed, nor had it rained during week after application but the application faded to almost original appearance in 6 days. RE-applied again to see if it does better second coat.

Tenía mis dudas antes de comprarlo puestoQue en el mercado actual ahí opciones más económicas que realizan la misma función que es dar brillo, sin embargo me lleve una sorpresa con este restaurador , es increíble si se usa tal cual las instrucciones indicadas da resultados verdaderos , el productos se vuelve uno con el plástico como si se absorbiera sin dejar grasoso el exterior , repele agua y dura varias semanas , en zonas muy decoloradas por el sol se debe ser más generoso con el producto aplicadoEn conclusión si buscas restaurar plásticos grisáceos ya sea en interior o exterior te lo recomiendo sin duda vale cada pesoTambién si buscas proteger de los rayos UV tus plásticos ya sea de motos, autos etc lo eh probado y evita el deterioro de los mismos sin sensación de grasaTiene buen aroma que se percibe mientras se aplica el producto en las zonas
