I used it straight out of the box on the battery in my VW TDi (Diesel – big, battery). It seemed to perform perfectly. I replaced a Stanley 6 Amp slow charger which was stuck in “float” change, fraction of an amp, which made it a very slow charger indeed.The NOCO is fast strong and intuitive to use. It seems to perfectly charge the lead-acid battery on my car, I expect to use it on the Lithium/Fe battery in my RV and hope it performs as well on that. I’ll also see if the “refresh” feature will “brighten up” my VW battery since it’s a bit cranky after a period of poor charges.

EDIT 2/26/24: I am now the blocks “AAA”. Been helping people start their cars when jump starts with cables have not worked. Definitely handy to get other people out of an otherwise expensive pinch.I have a car battery that I purchased around 2016 (date of review 1/3/24). The car itself does not get driven much, at most 2-3 times a week no longer than 15 minutes one way.Throughout the years I’ve drained it by leaving the car lights on. Its always required a jump start after that to get going again. Recently I’ve been an idiot and been leaving my lights on more frequently. Eventually it required me to jump start everytime I wanted to turn on the car. It was becoming a hassle and I was about to call it quits and purchase a new battery until I came across Project Farm’s review on battery chargers. This was at the top of the list so I figured to give it a shot.I was not disappointed! I charged it for 4 days straight, put it in my car, and it started right up. Not surprised considering it was just charged but the real test laid ahead. I was going to be out of town for two weeks and leave the car sitting. I came back two weeks later and the car started up, no hesitation whatsoever, as if it was a different battery!The NOCO Genius 10 saved me about $150-200 at least in a brand new battery. On top of that, I can now use it for other batteries in the event of any similar issues. The instructions on the other hand are a bit confusing and had to rely on YouTube comments to piece it together.For those who are confused at what to do, I did not do a 12V repair (function which this unit has) as it requires the battery to be completely charged first. All I did was charge it straight for 4 days uninterrupted.When first put on battery to the charger it will be in standby mode. You push (or hold depending on what you need) the MODE button to select your desired option. I was charging a lead acid battery so I selected 12V. The meter at the top slowly advanceD from each of the four bars until the final bar was pulsing green which indicates its charging to full (over 80% I believe). The green charging light continued to slowly pulse even on the 4th day but I took a gamble and disconnected it from the battery. For the battery to be 100% charged, the green light should stay solid. That means my battery worked 2 weeks later after sitting and it wasn’t even at 100%.The unit can also force a charge on batteries that are extremely under voltage. Thats a separate setting that I haven’t had to use yet. It can also charge AGM and Lithium but I believe the 12V repair function is only for lead acid.Unfortunately I had to go through 3 separate orders because the first two were from Amazon Warehouse and I encountered issues with both, consecutively. I ended up getting frustrated and just purchased a brand new charger.Pros:Solid build qualityExcellent cable connections with weather coversCompatible with a wide variety of batteriesRepair and Force charge batteriesCons:Poor instructionsCharge is slow BUT I think thats how these chargers workTL;DRTry this first before rushing to get a new battery it is a good investment that can save you a lot of money

I purchased this for my 2023 Chevy Traverse Premier. It worked well and topped off the charge on my battery very quickly. Unfortunately, it didn’t come with written instructions but they were easy to find online so I downloaded the manual in PDF format to my phone.

The charger works great, however it comes with the lead clamps attached using strange bolts. I have an extensive tool selection but couldn’t find a tool to fit them. I ended up drilling them out to get the clamps off so I could attach the leads directly to my battery.

Bought this on Amazon deal days, well delivered and well packaged. Used on a completely dead 12. Volt 800 cold cranking amps. And it brought it back to life. Did the same thing on a completely dead yellow top optima battery Aunt and it was under 1 volt and it brought it back to life. Awesome product!

Why a charger and a charging routine? I have read that the extra electronics on recent autos make more demands on batteries. Sure enough, my 2022 JLR has a start-stop ESS feature that was acting up and giving me error codes and “ESS not ready” messages. I put this NOCO 10 on the battery and it would not take a charge. Tried several times for hours each time and it would return only an error message–the OEM AGM battery was too damaged from deep discharges to hold a charge…Repair mode: I made a plan to buy a new AGM battery but I thought why not try this Repair mode the NOCO has. Repair mode does several things, but includes increased voltage and a de-sulfating process to repair damaged batteries. After one 4 hour “Repair” session, this OEM AGM battery would charge normally and took a full charge. It’s probably still damaged to some degree, and will likely require replacing sooner than it would without that damage, but the NOCO 10’s ability to bring it back to life is well worth it. Paid for itself and more on the first application.NOCO 10 vs NOCO 5: others have found that some newer auto systems with more complicated OEM battery combinations may not get properly charged with the NOCO 5 and may require the 10 volts the NOCO 10 uses to get at the main plus auxiliary battery system. Now that I have the Aux battery disconnected I’m sure the NOCO 5 would do fine charging just the main battery. Like the 10, the NOCO 5 appears to have a Repair function so that’s a plus, but whether the 5’s lower voltage allows as effective an extra-voltage Repair I don’t know.12V Supply: The NOCO 10 includes a 12V Supply feature the 5 doesn’t have, which allows me to run 12V appliances like an air compressor from the wall outlet in the garage so I don’t have to hook up to a battery when I’m home. Good feature.Quality: The NOCO 10 feels well made, sturdy and tough, and yet still pretty small and light for what it is. The rubberized bottom keeps it from sliding off the fender. I really like the quick disconnect coupling. The alligator clips are high quality and have eyelets built in if you remove the alligator clips.Accessories: Good value inexpensive NOCO accessories means I can have my auto battery set up with bolt-on eyelet lead so it’s a simple automatic plug in process; takes 10 seconds to set up routine maintenance. The NOCO 10 comes with a wall mount / on-board mount so you can set it up in various ways. There is a quick disconnect accessory that lets you charge your battery through the cigarette lighter 12V plug and not even have to open the hood. And a quick disconnect extension cable if you prefer to mount the NOCO 10 on the wall.

A great charger for multiple battery types
Over the last 4 years I’ve been able to recharge multiple 12v batteries (auto starter batteries, marine deep cycle and lithium batteries) with this single excellent unit, it’s now definitely paid for itself. This includes running my oldest deep cycle battery through the Repair Mode (gave it almost 2 days on the bench) and saw an improvement in the final state of charge. The Manual mode worked to allow me to recharge a completely discharged 0 volts car battery within 6 hours, thanks to its 10Amp capability. I recommend this charger, would buy again.
