Easy to assemble just by looking at the pictures. About 3hrs. Use your own socket set and an adjustable wrench as the tools that are included are very cheap. Unit appears to be well made with good welds. After assembly you will have to go back and tension each individual pulley so they don’t wobble or have any of the cables too loose. All the parts came in four boxes and were properly labeled with nothing missing to my surprise. A great home unit if you don’t feel like getting into the trouble of a gym membership.

I took a few days before i would wright a review.works great, easy to use well made. I was able to assemble myself, all parts where there, parts easily marked. I separated them all out in order of use. ths will make it much easier…it will take about 4 hours to assemble yourself. I did not watch the video, i seen were people said they did. I was able to put together and they provide all the stuff you need tool wise.picture of assembly book is a little small(picture wise) i would recommend studding it first…all and all i give it a 9.5 out of 10 ( just because of the book)

It’s not easy to design a multifunctional exercise machine. We purchased this because our Weider Crossbow Advantage had developed limitations. It uses fiberglass rods or crossbows that mimic weight resistance when flexed using pulleys. Over time, their resistance decreased and their covered cables deteriorated. Alas, that company no longer exists. The Sportsroyals machine is a real, weight-stack machine that is MIC but pretty solid once assembled. While it has many functions, it’s not as versatile as the Crossbow. Amazingly, it arrived 2 days after we ordered it in 4 separate boxes, labeled 1-4. Box 1 arrived damaged and partially open. Two pulleys from that box were damaged and I have contacted the company for replacements. The parts are logically arranged and labeled in numbered steps. Tools are supplied, but a ratchet wrench with 14, 17 and 19 mm sockets will make assembly much easier. Eventually, you will need the supplied tools but they were actually in box 2, which you may want to open along with box 1. Boxes 3 & 4 contain the weights. A hand truck comes in handy. Assembly is straight forward but will take 3-5 hours. Getting the frame installed is easier with 2 people. There are a lot of carriage bolts that fit poorly in their square slots. To get them seated takes more torque than should be required. There are a few errors in the written assembly instructions. The nomenclature of parts can be odd – they call washers “flat pads.” When the instructions mention a “disk,” it refers to a cardboard pad that has the hardware arranged and supplied tools in their numbered steps. The assembly video on this Amazon product website is extremely helpful. Once construction starts, moving the machine becomes increasingly difficult. There are no supplied wheels and the machine is very heavy. Once the weights have been installed, you can pretty much forget about moving it, so place it where you plan to use it including some space in front of it where you might want to sit or recline. I found installing the sponge cushions quite difficult until I applied soapy water to their metal tubes.Using the machine requires adjusting the position of the upper hanging pulley on part number 21 (you’ll see). Otherwise, the top weight will not drop. We needed to adjust the position of that pulley to the 3rd hole from the top. Using the machine is mostly done while sitting on it with a few exercises done sitting on the floor in front of it. There are not a lot of possible adjustments. The backrest and swing-arms are adjustable. There is a “hand cushion” that is about 1/2 the size of a chair seat cushion. It can be raised and lowered, but it has otherwise very limited function. Other than adding or subtracting the weights with which you exercise, nothing else is adjustable. The weight sizes are labeled on 2 sheet metal covers that arrived with many dents in them. The weights go from 8.8#, to 22# (about 10 kg) and then in increments of 13# all the way up to 154#, which should be adequate for most exercise enthusiasts. (From my days on the college weight-lifting team, I learned that doing many repetitions was better at building strength and endurance than doing one massive lift and getting hurt.) The enclosed assembly manual has illustrations of 15 exercises you can do written in somewhat poor English (remember, it’s MIC…). In comparison, our old Weider Crossbow has over 65 exercises. The exercise instructions advise making adjustments, such as, “Adjust the round sponge holder to the lowest level,” that are plainly not present or possible. If you find that operating the machine with just modest weights suddenly becomes unusually difficult, check to make sure that the cord is in the pulley groove and not being pinched by its bracket. That can be caused by a loose cable. In summary, this is a nice exercise machine with some limitations. Hopefully, I’ll receive replacement pulleys for the ones that arrived damaged. The dented covers, I can live with. Moving the machine will require at least some disassembly, so don’t lose the instructions or the tools!

Compact , functional, plenty of weight, smooth pulley function. Instructions are clear, all pieces included and packed well. Affordable compared to other less equipped options

I spent a lot of time trying to decide between all of the options around this price range and I am very happy with the choice I made. This unit comes with some things the others don’t come with and for the price it is really good quality. It did take quite a while to set up, but all the pieces were numbered by which step they are used in as well as the hardware so even tho it took some time, as long as you keep everything organized and take your time to go step by step the set up is fairly easy. There are a couple steps that would be easier with two people, but I was able to set it up by myself in about 4-5 hours. Worth it!

My wife and I just finished putting the machine together and it looks and operates extremely well. We took three hours the first day and finished after two hours the next so the five hour time I’ve read on other reviews is probably accurate. We used two days because we’re old! All the pieces are packaged and labeled by step number which really made organizing the build easy. The direction booklet was made for people with better eyes than ours so it wasn’t used much. However, there’s an assembly video on YouTube that despite the irritating music made the assembly pretty easy, just turn the audio off. We used to own a ladies circuit training gym and this machine is just as sturdy and smooth as any of ours were. I guess the hard part starts tomorrow when we start a training routine!

The bottom weight is unusable due to the placement of a bolt that connects a cable to the bottom of the machine. The other weights start having issues starting at 101lbs because the holes in the bar to stick the pin in don’t line up properly. The machine might be ok for anyone sticking to the 101 lbs or less. The installation video was well done, but it still takes a few hours to put together. It is disappointing to spend the time to realize you didn’t get what you paid for.

It took 4 hours to put together but it is well worth it! The machine is very sturdy and works out many body parts. My only issue is my handyman lost 2 non-essential parts and I am trying to find out how to replace them.As mentioned above my handyman lost a couple of pieces. I found one – the other was MIA so I contacted SPORTS ROYALS and they have AWESOME, RESPONSIVE SUPPORT!!! They shipped me the replacement part (with a few extra) at no charge. They stayed in touch from when I asked for help until the replacement part was received. This company makes a great product and has exceptional customer support!!! 😀
